Seasons of Change: Simplifying, Pivoting, and Moving Forward Con La Jefa, Kita Zuleta
When Life Happens to Your Plans: Lessons in Grief, Growth, and Grace
As a Jefa, you know the hustle never truly stops. But what happens when life throws you curveballs so big, you’re forced to pause, reflect, and reimagine everything you thought you had figured out? That’s been my story this year, and in the latest episode of Cafecito Con Jefas, I’m opening up about the lessons I’ve learned in one of the most challenging seasons of my life.
The Unexpected Moments That Shift Everything
This year has been heavy. Life brought changes that I didn’t anticipate—changes that affected not just my personal life but also how I approach my business. From navigating grief to experiencing deep personal transitions, I’ve had to make hard decisions about what truly matters.
One of the biggest lessons? Learning to embrace simplicity. When you’re carrying more than you expected, sometimes you have to put things down to keep moving forward. That’s not failure; it’s clarity.
Simplifying Isn’t Quitting—It’s Finding Focus
In the episode, I talk about why I’ve had to simplify my approach this year. For so many of us, simplifying feels like giving up. But in reality, it’s about honing in on what truly aligns with your values and goals. It’s about letting go of the things that drain your energy so you can pour yourself fully into what lights you up.
This isn’t easy work. It requires reflection, intention, and—most importantly—grace for yourself. You can’t do it all, and that’s okay. Simplifying has allowed me to keep showing up, even if it looks different than I imagined.
Holding Space for Grief While Moving Forward
Grief is a complicated, deeply personal journey, and it doesn’t just impact your personal life; it can seep into how you show up as a leader, a creative, and a Jefa. In this episode, I share how I’ve learned to hold space for my grief without letting it consume me.
For anyone else navigating loss—whether it’s the loss of a loved one, an opportunity, or even a version of yourself you’re leaving behind—know this: It’s okay to feel all the feelings. But it’s also okay to keep moving forward at your own pace. Growth doesn’t erase grief, but it can help you find purpose within it.
Why Showing Up Matters—Even When It’s Hard
Through all the challenges this year, one thing has remained clear: showing up matters. Not just for my community, but for myself. Showing up doesn’t mean having all the answers or being perfect. It means being present, being real, and being willing to keep going, one step at a time.
